Code of Conduct

The following ‘Code of Conduct’ is accepted by all members and by becoming a member, you agree to abide by these conditions at all times, both on and off the field of play.

All players are expected to:

  • Pay their subscription fee by the date given for the coming season
  • Pay match fees (where relevant) in accordance with the sums agreed at the AGM
  • Show a friendly but competitive attitude to the opposition
  • Arrive at the relevant ground at the designated times; if there is a problem, the member should notify the captain in good time
  • Arrive at the game with the proper kit and equipment to play
  • Be available before the game, at the designated time, to carry out pre-arrange ground duties and for warm-up/captain’s briefing
  • Assist with other duties at the end of the game
  • Be prepared to score or umpire if the need arises
  • Prepare a tea of suitable quality, when asked, for the two teams and officials
  • Give availability to the captain or via Doodle by 5pm Monday for the week’s coming games
  • Notify the captain as soon as playing availability changes AND update Doodle
  • Show respect for umpires and their decisions by not verbally arguing or visually indicating disagreement
  • Ensure communication with officials is done via the captain
  • Show respect for decision made by captains both on and off the field, including regarding selection or in-game decisions
  • Show respect for other players and your team mates both on and off the field
  • Channel any grievance with the club on:
    • Playing matters through a) the relevant captain, then b) with the Club’s Chairman or Welfare Officer, if necessary:
    • Non-playing matters with a member of the committee
  • Follow the BCL rules when playing in League Matches or T20 League rules for Mid-Week games
  • Supports the club by volunteering time for pre and post season work on the clubhouse and ground
  • Attend club fund raising functions or volunteer their help pre, during and post the function

Please note: Membership can be withdrawn for non-adherence to these factors. Membership is probationary for the first full season that someone is a member. Membership for the 2020 Season starts on 1st April 2020 until 31st March 2021. Membership for the 2021 Season starts on 1st April 2021 until 31st March 2022.
